BIG Biodiversity Challenge and Awards 2024 launch

Find out about CIRIA's BIG Biodiversity Challenge and Awards 2024 and explore some of the award-winning projects from 2023 that delivered the best examples of biodiversity enhancements in construction and the wider built environment.

Established in 2013, this year marks the 11th anniversary of the BIG Biodiversity Challenge which celebrates the contributions of the construction industry towards biodiversity. The challenge to ‘Do One Thing’ invites the sector to add at least one new biodiversity enhancement – big or small – to a building site, development, or existing structure.

The launch of this year’s Challenge demonstrated how the construction industry is rising to the challenge of doing one thing. We heard first-hand from some of our 2023 winners and they provided an overview of their award-winning projects.
