Urban nature walking tour
Join us for a free guided walking tour exploring green infrastructure, urban nature and biodiversity across Newcastle, delivered in collaboration with the CIRIA Biodiversity Community of Practice.
Background
Following the success of last year’s urban walking tour in Bristol, we’re excited to head north to explore how Newcastle is integrating nature into the cityscape. Join us to discover how a vibrant city known for its industrial heritage is also home to rich green corridors, restored habitats, and innovative biodiversity initiatives — from urban parks and river valleys to rewilding and nature-led design.
Newcastle’s green network plays a crucial role in supporting wildlife, improving climate resilience, and enhancing wellbeing. This tour will highlight how habitat creation, species conservation, and green infrastructure are being delivered in a dense urban setting.
