Bluer, greener, faster

Join CIRIA's 4th conference on blue-green infrastructure (BGI) for an interactive day of presentations and discussions while raising your concerns and inputting your ideas for moving forward.

In partnership with CIRIA Biodiversity Community of Practice
  • Discover our Biodiversity CoP members here.
  • Learn more about the CoP's aims, and how you can get involved here.
Background
The climate and ecological emergencies are real. Communities are suffering from the impacts of extreme weather and species are becoming extinct. Longer-term targets have been set for emission reductions and improved practices, but action is needed now to adapt to changes and to slow them. Increasing and improving green infrastructure and water quality has many benefits for society, the environment and the economy and is already being implemented, but this needs to happen far more quickly and far more extensively.

Why attend
  • Hear from those with practical experience of implementing BGI to understand what challenges were faced and how opportunities were taken.
  • Seek input from fellow delegates on the challenges you face in starting BGI projects.
  • Find out what help is available and how to access it, and seek input on how CIRIA can assist.
  • Understand what BGI works well in both urban and rural areas.
  • Consider the future – what competing plans might affect how BGI is implemented and how we can plan ahead.
  • Earn valuable CPD.

  • Local Authorities, and Lead Local Flood Authorities
  • Drainage, highway, infrastructure, and consulting engineers
