Eco-engineering on the Channel coast - MARINEFF Project
This webinar will illustrate Marineff's cutting-edge research and development in coastal eco-engineering in coastal regions along the Channel. All presentations will be in English.

Background
Across the channel coast, there is an abundance of marine infrastructure used for coastal protection, flood defence, commercial or recreational purposes. However, these are rarely designed to improve coastal water ecosystems. In recent years, ideas have been developed to use this so-called "grey infrastructure" to provide habitats for marine life. The Marineff project has been developing innovative methods, creating and testing prototype structures, and undertaking large-scale trials to tackle these issues.
CIRIA has been working closely with Bournemouth University to help promote and raise awareness of the Marineff project since mid-2019, and this webinar will provide key updates from the project and consider the future of eco-engineering along the Channel coast.
