Innovative Site Investigation (ISI) Hub

Innovation is a vital element to business success, it can enable organisations to improve productivity and competitiveness by responding quickly to changes and challenges from customers.  Innovation in site investigation holds the potential to improve not only our understanding of the site, earlier in the process, but would lead to making the operational phase of each development streamlined.

At the start of 2018, CIRIA carried out a survey of over 180 respondents with a connection to the site investigation industry.  We found that although more than 50% wanted to see more innovation, 75 % of those who responded had not implemented anything new in the last 12 months.  There seems to be a mismatch between what clients want from site investigation and what professionals carrying out the work believe their clients want.

CIRIA’s Innovative Site Investigation Hub (ISIH) is a platform to share site investigation developments and solutions, for us to come together as an industry (clients, contractors, consultants, researchers, regulators, laboratories and suppliers)to encourage innovation through the development and engagement of new techniques, processes and technologies; making the industry fit for the 21st century and beyond.
