Design for movement in buildings (RP977)

The CIRIA report TN107 Design for movement in buildings was first published in 1981. This new project will update the existing guidance by carrying out research and then making amendments to expand the original text and tweak illustrations to create a comprehensive second edition.

This updated report will provide guidance for those designing buildings and other structures, and make them aware of the dangers and difficulties which can arise due to movements of various types and timescales.

The new edition will also contain an introductory section alerting less-experienced engineers to the movement issues which they need to consider.
