Mobilising Citizens for Adaptation: building local flood resilience through cooperative rainwater harvesting (MOCA) aims to generate evidence and debate about the potential for cooperative rainwater harvesting (RWH) to address local flood risk and to deliver wider community benefits.
It will achieve this by examining the feasibility of households and communities cooperating with water governance organisations to undertake RWH in two flood-prone sewer subcatchments with contrasting socio-economic characteristics. The findings of the work and their implications for local authority drainage engineers and planners will be reported in a workshop hosted by CIRIA. CIRIA will also scope the extent to which findings could form appropriate input to the SuDS manual.
