Supporting environmental good practice on site through e-learning (P2968)

Environmental impacts arise on all construction projects, irrespective of the location, size or nature of the development, and have the potential to affect the surrounding communities, as well as the natural and built environment. Impacts can take many forms, such as noise or pollution, and can affect surrounding flora and fauna. Good environmental practice enables these issues to be managed positively.

CIRIA is proposing to develop a series of e-learning modules that build on the content of the fourth edition of the Environmental good practice on site guide (C741) and the existing accompanying one-day classroom training course (IEMA approved). The project reflects industry needs for both greater detail and the flexibility to learn at their own pace.

The modules would complement the existing course, providing further detailed guidance on key environmental issues including ecology and biodiversity, built heritage, land contamination, nuisance, resource management, traffic management and pollution prevention.

Project status
CIRIA is currently engaging stakeholders to secure funding support for the project.
