Lean Construction is a recognised approach to improving the performance of the delivery of construction assets. CIRIA has published an over-arching guide to Lean Construction and several further free guides that expand on particular aspects of Lean (www.ciria.org/lean). These have been well received by the industry. This project will provide further support to organisations considering the implementation of Lean by providing practical guidance on the following additional aspects:
- Building Lean capacity through training for example
- Lean and the design process
- Quantifying lean benefits (case studies)
- Health & Safety benefits of Lean
Project status
CIRIA is currently engaging stakeholders to secure funding support for the project.
Following a successful workshop held last December that explored how Lean tools and approaches can help improve health and safety performance, CIRIA is drafting the new guide on this topic.
