Shortlist announced – Biodiversity Challenge Awards 2025

We are delighted to announce the shortlist for the Biodiversity Challenge Awards 2025, recognising some of the most inspiring and impactful contributions to biodiversity within the built environment.

This year’s entries reflected a wide variety of scales, sectors, and approaches from innovative green infrastructure in dense urban areas to nature-based interventions along coastlines, infrastructure networks, and water systems. Each submission demonstrated a strong commitment to integrating biodiversity into the planning, design, and long-term management of spaces where nature and people thrive together.

Following a rigorous judging process, our expert panel has shortlisted a group of outstanding individuals and projects. These finalists showcase best practice in biodiversity enhancement, long-term ecological improvement, and collaborative working across disciplines setting the benchmark for what can be achieved when biodiversity is truly embedded in development.
