CIRIA welcomes Active Building Centre to Membership

CIRIA is pleased to welcome the Active Building Centre to membership. 

Active Building Centre brings even wider sustainability credentials to CIRIA’s growing membership. With their focus on renewable energy tech for buildings, the Active Building Centre brings significant knowledge sharing opportunities throughout the membership and to inform and support CIRIA’s work to champion performance improvement throughout the built environment. 

Dirk Vennix, Chief Executive, CIRIA comments “We are delighted to welcome the Active Building Centre to CIRIA’s family of members. The ABC is helping to drive the industry to change the way we build in the future, by intelligently combining efficient methods of construction, with new technological approaches and a rigorous approach to data. They will enhance our members’ understanding of the opportunities for scaling up sustainable self-generating construction and energy systems in new build. This could also provide a stimulus to developing new methods of modular construction.”

A massive component of our work is in aggregating, scrutinising and applying all the data which proves the case – in effect defining the commercial models which will eventually deliver the scaling up needed to change the buildings and energy markets. To that end, CIRIA’s grasp of the full scope of research and information activity and resources across the construction sector will be invaluable.”
