CIRIA welcomes Costain to Membership
CIRIA is pleased to announce that engineering solutions company, Costain, has joined CIRIA membership.
Costain deploys technology based solutions to meet national needs across
the UK’s energy, water and transportation infrastructures. Costain is
already involved in a number of CIRIA activities, with representatives
from the organisation sitting on a number of our advisory panels across
the theme areas. They are also funders of two of CIRIA's new projects,
Delivering well-being on site and
Use of UAVs for infrastructure management.
Bill Hewlett, Technical Director, Costain; “We’re very pleased
to join CIRIA. We want to improve lives and enhance environmental
performance by helping take the industry’s agenda forward in areas such
as designing our built environment as a circular economy and best use of
technology to improve efficiency and reliability. Our industry can’t
afford to offer only construction services anymore; we need to offer a
fuller suite of end to end services that cover all the stages of a built
asset, from initial concept design to decommissioning and recycling.
We look forward to working with our peers in the CIRIA network to
achieve this.”
Dirk Vennix, Chief Executive at CIRIA commented; “On behalf of
CIRIA I would like to extend a warm welcome to our newest members
Costain. We look forward to working closely with them and supporting
them in continuing to lead industry in raising professional standards
and practice; as well as providing ample opportunities for innovation and business
development and improvement through our wide-ranging network programme
and good practice guidance.”
CIRIA’s members come from all construction stakeholder groups and cover
both the supply and demand side of the industry, as well as the public
sector, regulators and academia. Check out our
