CIRIA partnering with Innovation Zero

CIRIA is partnering with Innovation Zero, the UK's largest sustainability congress, on 30 April – 1 May 2024 at London Olympia. Supported by the UK Government and chaired by The Rt Hon Sir Liam Fox MP, the event aims to accelerate meaningful action towards a low carbon economy and society. Co-located with Infrastructure Zero, the events combine environmental innovation and infrastructure development.

For the construction sector, the challenge to meet the UK target and legal commitment of ‘Net Zero’ Carbon emissions by 2050 is particularly acute, given the relative contribution of the sector to carbon emissions and that progress is not at the pace required. CIRIA is keen to play its part in the Construction Leadership Council CO2struct Zero initiative via the guidance that is vital in the practical delivery of these aims.

Innovation has the potential for a transformative impact upon a sector which is often traditional in its approach, but for which change is required. CIRIA has always occupied the knowledge transfer space, learning across sectors and showcasing, critiquing and embedding innovation into industry guidance.

Dr Andy Moores, Executive Director of Research at CIRIA, said he is delighted to be partnering with Innovation Zero and joining the speaker line up of diverse ensemble of sustainability leaders, innovative policymakers, and industry trailblazers.

"I am delighted to be involved with this year’s Innovation Zero exhibition. The event aligns very well with the ambitions of CIRIA, and it presents an opportunity to network with our existing members and wider industry – who I think will be interested in what CIRIA has to offer. I am looking forward to moderating a fantastic panel of speakers on day one on the topic of ‘Decarbonisation and adaptation in urban environments’. Pop along and say hello!"

CIRIA will join a global network of innovators, funders, policymakers, and corporates across multiple sectors and geographies to discuss low carbon leadership, investing in green infrastructure, circularity and more.

Join us to hear critical insights into shaping a resilient future. Registration is free until 31 March.
