Non-licensed work on Asbestos in soil (NLW) - 3226974

PLEASE NOTE - this module should ONLY be purchased by the person intending to complete the module. Please DO NOT purchase on behalf of anyone else.

This course complements the requirements for Non-Licensed Work (NLW) and refresher training as stated in HSE ACOP L143 and industry guidance documents (e.g. CIRIA C733, Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012: Interpretation for Managing and Working with Asbestos in Soil and Construction & Demolition materials: Industry Guidance (CARSOIL 2016) and CITB’s NVQ for asbestos).

The course is aimed at learners who have already completed asbestos in soil awareness training as required under Regulation 10 of Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. It includes a brief refresher of the main points that the awareness training should have covered.

Any need for delegates to try and practice for themselves aspects the TNA identifies as being required will need to be met by face to face IIT. Such aspects could include the construction of mini-enclosures, the use of control techniques such as class H vacuum cleaners (BS 8520-3:2009), the use of decontamination facilities, donning, removing, disposing and maintaining personal protective equipment (PPE) and respiratory protective equipment (RPE). This elearning course will explain, and in some cases demonstrate, some of these aspects, but cannot provide opportunities for the delegate to try and practice for themselves.

In addition, site, task and equipment specific IIT identified by TNA will of course be required to ensure compliance with Regulation 10 of Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
