Research review: embedding circularity into construction and decommissioning of assets (phase 1) (X539F)

There is a minimum order of five copies for this title

Embedding the concept of material circularity into the design, build, maintenance and decommissioning of assets is a key aim for reducing waste and minimising embedded and operational carbon. CIRIA and the Energy Institute have collaborated in developing a two-phase project to address this, working across sectors to identify barriers and create opportunities for a range of asset types that our members are typically dealing with.

This document is the Phase 1 output, comprising a desk based literature review of existing information within the circularity space. The review takes a materials based approach, examining relative maturity and availability of information and guidance. Phase 2 will produce guidance which will enable a systematic approach to the circularity problem and provide a number of case studies to help embed good practice into business as usual activities.
