Creating blue-green cities through collaboration

Adopting a collaborative approach to the management of blue-green infrastructure helps to drive innovation, increases its chances of success, and improves communication. Collaboration is most effective when the right stakeholders are engaged from the outset, including for example architects, developers and sub-contractors, by combining their expertise to ensure good design, construction and maintenance. It is also important to involve communities and understand how they will appreciate and use the space created.

The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council and GreenBlue Urban presented a practical case study at this webinar, demonstrating their collaborative approach at a development in North Street, Keighley, West Yorkshire. This project illustrates how imaginative tree planting can provide numerous benefits and will continue to provide these benefits for decades. The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council also outlined their plans to tackle the impacts of the climate emergency and shared their future ambitions.
