Managing unexploded ordnance (UXO) in marine environments

Gain insight into the management of unexploded ordnance (UXO) from a marine aggregate's perspective. This webinar is supported by the European Marine Sand and Gravel Group (EMSAGG).

Background
Unexploded ordnance (UXO) deployed in the marine environment during military activities or dumped at sea can pose a major threat to the marine aggregate industry. Everyday activities such as trawling, dredging, or the management of marine infrastructure may encounter UXO unexpectedly which could have catastrophic impacts if handled incorrectly.

Dealing with unexploded ordnance is not a new challenge for the European marine aggregate industry. CIRIA Assessment and management of unexploded ordnance (UXO) risk in the marine environment (C754) gives guidance on this topic with respect to UK legislation and regulatory regimes, but the approach to safe and efficient detection varies from country to country across Europe.

Join this webinar to learn about the different approaches to managing UXO in the marine environment across Europe and participate in a live Q&A session with the expert panel.

For the past 24 years, EMSAGG has worked to identify developments and information needs for the marine sand and gravel constituents concerning all aspects of the industry across Europe.
