Background
With the recent winter flooding the country has been reminded of the challenges of adapting to climate change and managing flood risk, and the impact this can have on our communities.

Property flood resilience (PFR) is an important part of our response to flood risk. PFR includes measures that reduce the risk to people and property, enabling households and businesses to reduce flood damage, speed up recovery and reoccupation of flooded properties. PFR measures can reduce the amount of water entering buildings (known as resistance), or limit the damage caused if water does enter a building (known as recoverability).

Last year CIRIA published the Code of practice for property flood resilience (C790a) that provides a benchmark for those implementing PFR and includes six standards specifying what should be achieved. CIRIA recently published the Guidance on the code of practice for property flood resilience (C790b) which explains how a process based on six stages can deliver PFR that conforms with good practice and is consistent with the Code of practice.

This free webinar will provide an overview of PFR, its benefits and explain how the Code of practice and associated guidance support PFR delivery, and provides confidence to those that have been flooded, or wish to reduce the impact of future floods.
