Background
This breakfast briefing will feature updates from three organisations working to improve the capacity, resilience, efficiency and sustainability of London’s transport network and open spaces. The speakers will provide project updates and look at what future developments might mean for the construction industry in London.
Previous estimates have suggested £973bn of investment is needed on transport by 2050 in order for London to retain a world class status. The demands placed on London’s transport system are enormous, varied and well documented; ranging from personal travel to the transportation of goods, and from the international to the local. London’s airports, and its vast network of railways, underground trains, highways, roads, bus routes, pedestrian and cycle links, trams and light railways cater for these various needs.
