CIRIA launches Sustainable Land Reuse Panel
CIRIA has launched a new Sustainable Land Reuse Panel to support better outcomes in land regeneration and contaminated land projects.
Land regeneration is central to the UK government’s growth agenda and brownfield-first policy, but developing previously used land is becoming increasingly complex. Projects must navigate contamination risks, geotechnical constraints, evolving regulation, and growing expectations around climate change, biodiversity and nature recovery.
Building on CIRIA’s long-standing, award-winning work in sustainable land reuse, the new panel will help industry stay ahead of emerging challenges. Acting as CIRIA’s eyes and ears, it will identify sector trends, support the development of new and refreshed guidance, share knowledge and experience, and promote collaboration across industry, regulators and policy makers.
The panel is led by CIRIA’s Senior Research Manager, Joanne Kwan. The first virtual meeting will take place on 10 March at 2pm.
