Grouted anchors and soil nails (C794)
Join us for this webinar launching CIRIA’s new good practice guide ‘Grouted anchors and soil nails: inspection, condition assessment and remediation (C794)’.
Registration has now closed.
Background
There is a wealth of information on the design and construction of grouted anchors, but little or no guidance on their inspection, condition assessment or remediation. In response to industry demand, CIRIA has produced this guidance which covers intrusive inspections beneath the anchor head which is susceptible to corrosion; outlines specialist techniques such as destructive destress; and outlines options for remediation and repair.
Soil nails and soil-nailed structures are also covered in detail in the guide. The approach for inspection, condition assessment and remediation of soil nails, is based on a collective approach, where the soil nails are addressed as part of the soil nailed structure, along with the facing and the drainage.
Why attend
Industry and academia will learn how to inspect, assess the condition of and remediate grouted anchors and soil nails from the guide’s authors.
•
Discover how to carry out intrusive inspections beneath the anchor head.
•
Learn specialist techniques including destructive de-stress, lift-off testing and the
observation method.
•
Explore options for remediation and repair of grouted anchors and soil nails.
•
Identify safety procedures for anchor inspection and practical methods for
safe working.
•
Earn valuable CPD.
Who should attend
Geotechnical asset owners and geotechnical engineers responsible for asset inspection and maintenance including clients, infrastructure managers and owners, tier 1 contractors, specialist ground engineering contractors, and consultants.
