The repurpose of materials in transport infrastructure

CIRIA is launching a new series of events aimed at exploring inventive ways to reconstruct existing materials for the transport infrastructure sector.

REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED

The repurpose of materials in transport infrastructure - PART 1

Background
This two-part webinar on 7 July and 21 July 2020 covers the rail sector. It will be followed by a webinar highlighting the latest developments in the road sector – more information coming soon.

The events will cover ways in which existing materials can be repaired and up-cycled for better use. Railway and road asset owners and operators, the supply chain and the academic community will share the latest research, concepts, prototypes and/or good practice that could meet the requirements of asset owners and operators now and into the future.

The transport infrastructure events will facilitate knowledge sharing on current industry practices and the application of cutting-edge research and good practice within the fields of infrastructure materials science and asset management, covering the areas of:
Monitoring and testing of condition of existing materials
Showcase examples of good practice with new replacement materials and learn from other sectors. Topics include composites in bridges, sustainable materials, and digitally enabled          materials such as 3D printing.
Requirements going forward aimed at delivering tangible outputs for the rail sector.

Why attend

Enable client organisations to inform the industry of their respective challenges and requirements
