Marine Sand and Gravel - Ireland (EMSAGG)

This event will provide delegates with an opportunity to explore approaches to marine dredging in the UK and relevant policy and legislation in Ireland. It will also provide delegates the opportunity to meet and share experience with EMSAGG members from Italy, the Netherlands and Belgium.

Background
The European Marine Sand and Gravel Group (EMSAGG) was formed in 1998 to share knowledge on policies and practices relating to mapping, licensing, execution and monitoring of marine sand and gravel with particular regards to environmental protection and wider sustainability imperativeness. It achieves this though regular meetings of its members, by holding learning workshops, organising a triennial international conference and occasional newsletters. Further information is available on the EMSAGG website: www.ciria.org/emsagg.

This event will provide delegates with an opportunity to explore approaches to marine dredging in UK and relevant policy and legislation in Ireland. It will also provide delegates the opportunity to meet and share experience with EMSAGG members from Italy, the Netherlands and Belgium.

There will also be an opportunity to have a tour of the facilities at the Centre for Marine and renewable technology.
