Assessing and planning for resilient critical infrastructure

Join industry leaders to discuss the principles and latest thinking in infrastructure resilience planning for the UK, with presentations and case studies from across sectors.

Background

Long term planning and investment prioritisation is key to ensuring resilient and sustainable infrastructure for the UK.

There is a requirement for long term strategic asset management plans which include resilience to current risks and future demands on infrastructure which consider long term asset management and whole-life thinking. There have been a variety of strategies and approaches developed by infrastructure owners, operators, designers and consultants to manage the consequences of natural hazards, increased demand and aging assets in the sector.

This event, the first in a series by CIRIA examining issues of infrastructure and resilience for the UK, will focus on introducing approaches to reducing the vulnerability of infrastructure to extreme weather and natural hazards; infrastructure adaptation planning; and embedding capacity and knowledge in organisations. For more information on the series please contact, Lee Kelly.
