2025 - Driving the Vision

This exclusive event invites industry to discuss their role in the newly reformed Construction Leadership Council, the new workstreams and progress towards meeting the targets of Construction 2025.

This is a free MEMBERS only event. This event is open to all CIRIA members.

When
25 April 2016
14.30 - 18.00 (Registration from 14.00)

Background
The Construction 2025 strategy, released in 2013, outlined a vision for the construction industry; championing advances in digital engineering, BIM, material advances; a greener, more sustainable industry; diversifying and expanding skills and the skills force, creating an attractive industry to work in; and overall a more joined up sector with innovation and communication underpinning improvements in all areas.

Following the restructuring of the Construction Leadership Council (CLC), there will be an emphasis on dialogue with industry, and the CLC will be refocusing efforts on six workstreams to improve business and grow economy in the UK construction sector. These workstreams are; skills, supply chain/business models, innovation, low carbon/sustainability, trade and communications.

This event will bring together senior figures from across industry to provide an update of current progress and planned initiatives for key areas which will support the continued delivery of Construction 2025. Speakers will discuss what should be implemented in order to support the goals of the strategy and whether this remains fit for purpose.

A closing panel discussion will examine the new emphasis on dialogue with industry to identify and deliver actions supporting UK construction, and the renewed efforts to make the CLC more effective and business-focused.

Delegates will:
  • hear industry leaders discuss planned initiatives and visions for economic growth and increased sustainability in the construction sector
  • consider strategic plans and investment for the construction sector
  • network with senior professionals from across CIRIA’s member organisations.
