Overview
Responsible sourcing is the management, and improvement, of sustainability issues associated with construction products and materials across the project supply chain, for both buildings and civil infrastructure. The construction industry is realising the need to minimise the impact that construction and the supply chain have on resources and the environment, both in the UK and all over the world. As such, responsible sourcing of products is a key focus for organisations, and there has been an increasing awareness of the manufacturers of these products across the construction sector.

Why attend
Delegates at this year's event will:
  • explore mitigation of reputational and economic risks following the potential consequences that poor management of supply chains and non-adoption of responsible sourcing practices could have
  • hear of progress from across the sector including a number of new and innovative tools and guidance
  • discuss responsible sourcing in the context of the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 and positive steps you can take to mitigating reputational risk
  • gain 5 hours of CPD.
Who should attend
  • Clients and designers: can you afford the reputational risk that a supply-chain exposé might have on one of your projects?
  • Contractors and manufacturers: with environmental and social criteria now featuring heavily on pre-qualification questionnaires, is your business up to speed?
  • Scheme operators: can you be confident your assessment criteria are up to date and comparable with equivalent schemes operated in other sectors?
