Overview
Construction 2025 Industrial Strategy: government and industry in partnership’ set out ambitious targets when it was released in 2013, aiming to drive growth, sustainability, innovation and leadership in the construction sector.

There are significant challenges in achieving the ambitious targets set by the strategy, however a number of recent initiatives including technology developments, new procurement contracts and skills initiatives, which aim to deliver specific aspects of the strategy, are now paving the way forward to a more sustainable and resilient construction industry.

This event brings together speakers and delegates from leading organisation in the areas which are identified as key in achieving the targets on Construction 2025 including BIM, Offsite, Lean and Carbon reduction. CIRIA works with the industry to improve performance and this event will focus on the relationship between R&D and embedding innovation in industry. Speakers will focus on specific industry case studies and discuss emerging technologies, innovations and processes.

This event will look at some of the current challenges of specific areas targeted in the strategy, how industry is addressing these and some of the emerging technologies and processes to address these.

Delegates will have the opportunity to:
  • hear from industry leaders on game changing and emerging technologies predicted to impact the construction industry
  • understand how the targets of Construction 2025 are influencing R&D
  • discuss significant developments in key areas targeted by the strategy including procurement, lean infrastructure delivery, BIM, and carbon reduction
  • consider how to increase investment in innovation in these areas
