Background
The Infrastructure Carbon Review sets out a series of actions for government, clients and suppliers to reduce carbon from the construction and operation of the UK’s infrastructure assets, in line with the UK’s climate change commitments. Focusing on leadership, procurement and innovation, the ICR highlighted key recommendations to enable carbon reductions in organisations and supply chains, and for cross sector action.
This event will provide an overview of the key recommendations including effective leadership, communication and culture, metrics and governance, innovation and standards and commercial solutions. The ICR has provided a basis to drive carbon reduction and energy improvement and creating sustainable business. Implementing change across the infrastructure sector will require building carbon reduction into procurement requirements, defining clear low carbon targets and encouraging and responding to innovation throughout the supply chain.
Delegates will:

- understand how to drive carbon reduction through sustainable procurement
- see innovation case studies from the supply chain.
