Good soil management
Join us for a virtual conference on sustainable soil management for construction projects.
Background
All construction projects generate surplus soil. In many cases, soil is considered waste that needs to be removed. Managing surplus soil has been come more difficult partly due to the introduction of more stringent environmental legislation. The industry has also been waiting for new guidance such as
DOWCOP Version 3
and the
Construction Code of Practice for the Sustainable Use of Soils on Construction Sites
for a while.
This conference will explore issues that construction professionals have had in managing soil from construction projects in the past 12 months. This includes how well they have been complying with waste regulations and how to use soil in projects to meet the wider environmental agenda. Attendees will also hear an update from
CIRIA's Soil Community of Practice
as it embarks on its second year of activities including the new web portal,
CIRIA Soil
.
