Good soil management - where there's muck there's brass

Join us for a virtual conference on sustainable soil management for construction projects.

Background
The UK government has set a target that by 2030 all soils should be sustainably managed. In a wider context, the need to improve soil health so that it can contribute more to growing food, capturing carbon, reducing flooding and erosion as well as other ecosystem services is now a priority for the UK government and United Nations.

Management of soil from construction projects has always been an important and sometimes difficult issue for many construction professionals. This conference will cover the Environment Agency’s view on defining soil as waste and explore challenges that construction professionals have managing soil from construction projects. This includes how well they have been complying with waste regulations and meeting the wider environmental agenda eg Biodiversity Net Gain.

The conference will also address national and international initiatives. Attendees will get an exclusive preview of CIRIA’s forthcoming soil report and insight into the Soil Community of Practice activities for 2023.
