When?
Thursday 13 March 2014 from 18:00 to 21:00 (registration from 17:30).

Background
The civil infrastructure sector has the daunting challenge of maintaining and modernising the systems on which we depend to respond to increasing demand. In recent years there has been an increasing demand for new processes and procedures to capture, store and interrogate better data on infrastructure asset performance and the wider system in which it sits.

To meet this demand, a number of new research centres and innovation platforms have emerged to fasttrack the development and deployment of new technologies, heralding a new dawn in construction, delivery and management of infrastructure.

Through adoption of these technologies on new projects, such as Crossrail, it is anticipated that hundreds of terabytes worth of data will be generated by the time of handover to the operational phase. Techniques and tools to ‘care for’ and analyse this enormous amount of data to inform business planning will then be paramount for effective asset management.

This event will explore the challenges of capturing, storing, managing and exploiting construction data and features case studies from leading organisations.

Who Should Attend?
The event will forms part of CIRIA's new civil infrastructure theme and is open for Core and Associate members to attend. The event will be followed by a networking drinks reception.
