The various CPF systems that are commercially available are described, together with their specifications and techniques for enhancing the surface of concrete is examined, with the results given in terms of changes in surface properties in and their relation to conventional curing procedures.
The guide examines where the use of CPF in construction is particularly effective, and provides advice on how to avoid potential issues, and where there are cost implications.
There are detailed contractor checklists (storage, handling and installation of CPF filter fabric, related formwork, and construction requirements) and six detailed case studies. This guide is the result of the collaborative programme Concrete techniques - site operations between CIRIA and The Concrete Society.
