I lead the development and delivery of CIRIA’s diverse research portfolio, which aims to produce independent and authoritative guidance to help the sector operate more sustainably and efficiently.

I joined CIRIA in the midst of COVID lockdown in April 2021 and so had the unusual experience of not meeting my team personally for nearly 6 months! I joined CIRIA after nearly 20 years in various Flood Risk Management roles in the Environment Agency so the breadth of what CIRIA does has been the biggest adjustment.

Away from work I am a professional Yorkshireman, enjoy watching Rugby League and getting out and about in the Dales camping and walking with the family.
