Thrust blocks on buried pressure pipelines (RP1119)

The laying of new pressure pipelines, and the replacement or diversion of existing routes account for a considerable investment by the water sector. Thrust blocks are an important feature of such systems.

This project will review and update CIRIA’s 1994 guide on the design of these structures to reflect new materials (particularly polyethylene), practices and changes to standards and codes.
