Lean views sought

The first phase of CIRIA’s project Lean in Construction culminated with the launch of Build Lean – Transforming construction using Lean Thinking (C696) in May 2011. The resulting book has been widely distributed across the industry and the report provides an overview and a call to arms, encouraging the uptake of lean.

A number of key issues were identified during production of the guide which it was not possible to cover in detail and it was agreed that a series of shorter documents could be produced. With support from the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and the Highways Agency, the next phase of the study is now underway. CIRIA is seeking the views of the industry to scope out the next phase of the Lean2 (lean implementation) project.
