Delivering PPS25 through the Local Development Frameworks


In association with Royal Haskoning and DCLG

 

Recent flood events and the devasting impact it has had within the built environment highlight the need for improved policy and planning with regard to new development.

 

This seminar will clarify changes to the recently updated PPS25 Development and flood risk and focus on the challenges and opportunites for delivering PPS25. This should be of particular interest to professionals such as planners, flood risk managers, drainage engineers, developers, consultants, utility companies, sewage undertakers and the insurance industry.

The key speakers will include:
Peter Bide, Head of Flooding and Water Planning Policy, DCLG and Principal Author of PPS25
Sebastien Catovski, Project Lead on Resistance and Adaptation, Defra, and Project Manager of the Defra Integrated Urban Drainage (IUD) Pilots.

SUDS Online @ Abertay

SUDS Online @ Abertay is delivered twice a year by Professor Chris Jefferies to drainage designers and planners who require an in-depth understanding of the principles of SUDS and their planning and implementation. Students will develop SUDS strategies and acquire the knowledge to design component parts of SUDS systems. The course has been accredited by CIWEM.

Micro Drainage training courses

Micro Drainage has been running training courses on drainage design since 1985 attended by up to 600 engineers every year. The courses have also been adopted by the WTI and were developed under the ISO 9001 and TickIT standards. There are currently 5 courses covering topics from:

Micro Drainage Workshops

A brand new programmer of workshops starts in October with the launch of WinDes W.10. The focus is on the essentials – issues like the design of foul sewer systems for today’s high density developments. There is also an overview of the new capabilities that enable compliance with the latest regulations on climate change, sustainability and pollution control.
