University Engagement Group (UEG)

The University Engagement Group (UEG), coordinated by CIRIA aims to share and exchange ideas and information on research themes that are topical, important and forward thinking to the broader construction industry.

The group was initially set up as a mechanism for engaging with university Core members and has been expanded to include those engaged through activities within the Modern Built Environment Knowledge Transfer Network (MBE KTN), a single, national, over-arching knowledge transfer network for the built environment.

The aims of the UEG are to:

  • understand and capture key university initiatives and research relevant to industry
  • provide a conduit to feed into CIRIA’s and the MBE KTN’s activities
  • create a better interface between industry and academia.

Members of UEG will consist of one representative from each university with CIRIA providing the secretariat at quarterly meetings.

If your university is interested in finding out more about the group or would like to become involved, please email Philip Charles at CIRIA.
