The main purpose of this study is to provide best practice guidance about the forthcoming implementation in the UK of Eurocode 7 Geotechnical Design. The project report, to be produced as an enabling document, will raise industry confidence and certainty about the use of EC7. The report shall clarify differences between EC7 and current UK design codes (eg British Standards) and help to provide a smooth transition for designers and practicing engineers.
Work on the project is nearing completion. A report is due to be published spring 2008.
