Recent changes to the CDM Regulations (CDM2007) have built upon earlier health and safety legislation by imposing a framework of duties so that all the parties to a construction project must consider health and safety.
A new CIRIA-managed network will help local authorities acting as clients, designers, contractors, or coordinators to engage with other stakeholders concerned with design safety and to meet their obligations under CDM2007 in an effective manner.
The network will provide local authorities with a one-stop shop for training updates and advice on CDM2007 and related health and safety issues.
Within the first year of joining, members will receive a copy of the two CIRIA guides on CDM2007, free attendance for 2 delegates from each local authority at each of the planned 12 regional UK events and a reduced rate of £200 per day for attendance at one and two-day training courses.
