The following points have been summarised from the Memorandum and Articles of Association and are intended only as a brief guide, not as a substitute for the rules of membership. A full copy of the Memorandum and Articles of Association of the Construction Industry Research and Information Association is available on request.
All member organisations appoint an individual to act as their Nominated Representative. This is the person who acts as the member’s representative to the Association and in whom the voting rights at General Meetings vest.
All member organisations also have the right to appoint a Council Representative. This person is authorized to attend and vote at Council meetings, and represent his organisation thereat. He may be the same person as the Nominated Representative.
The minimum period of membership is 2 years.
Member organisations must give 6 months notice of resignation. The named subscription is payable during this period, and all named benefits apply.
The Council is the senior representative body of member organisations and meets regularly to advise and consult with the Association and its Executive Board. All members have the right to be represented on Council through their Council Representative.
The Nominated Representative of member organisations or his proxy may vote.
On winding-up of the Association, the liability of Members is limited to
£10.
