Description: This feasibility study looks at the size and significance of the gap that many in the construction industry believe exists between management education and its practical application. The lack of properly qualified construction managers, it is said, is a major cause of cost escalations and delays in large projects. However, perceptions of the nature of this gap differ between academics, graduates and construction industry practitioners. The book starts with an exploration of the aims and methodology used in the research, then moves on to an examination of the views of the various stakeholders in this issue - industry practitioners, academics and graduates. It concludes by setting out a framework for proposed further research. Project Report 76 will be of relevance to management practitioners in construction, academics, policy advisers, researchers and training managers.
