C528 deals with thirteen stages in the construction phase, from tendering through to handover and guidance on maintenance and records. The layout of handbook is highly accessible, with thorough indexing for easy reference. Concise overviews of the relevant issues are given and each issue is dealt with from both a legislative and technical position. The handbook provides best practice guidance and further sources of information, and forms a useful checklist and inventory of potential environmental impacts. This publication is linked to C512, which is structured by the stages in the design and specification process, from agreeing the brief to tender action and letting the construction contract(s), and C529 which focuses on the key areas of concern in the demolition and site clearance process, notably legislation and policy, project planning and environmental management.
