Changing health, safety and environmental practices

Changing technology can both expose new risks while offering potential solutions.  Health, safety and the environment are all highly regulated and whilst regulation can help drive innovation it can, if too prescriptive, stifle it too. The UK government is committed to supporting innovation, this can be seen in their UK Industrial Strategy Document. 

This has led to all government departments and their associated regulators publishing details of their approach to innovation and regulation. The HSE’s position with respect to Innovation in regulation can be found here. The HSE undertake their own research and have over the years produced a number of publications relevant to the site investigation industry.
