Structural health monitoring in civil engineering

Launch event for CIRIA's new good practice guide for structural health monitoring in civil engineering.

REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED

Background
The need for civil infrastructure to have a longer and more informed life, coupled with recent developments in technology, has led to a growth in the use of SHM in asset management. Improved information and understanding gained from SHM can provide support to those responsible and/or tasked with making engineering judgements and decisions on when and how to intervene in the life cycle of infrastructure assets.

Why attend
Gain insight from the project team as they provide an overview of the guide and
its findings.
Learn how the new guidance complements CIRIA Hidden defects in bridges – guide
for detection and management (C764)
Hear how using continuous sensor-based structural health monitoring (CS-SHM),
a powerful quantitative type of system,  should become an integral part of civil
infrastructure asset management.
Have and opportunity to quiz the speakers through a live Q&A session
