Celebrating SuDS - the susdrain SuDS awards 2020
Our second bi-annual susdrain SuDS Awards will be held online this year with a virtual and more energetic format. This celebratory event will showcase outstanding projects across the UK and will announce our SuDS Champion of 2020.
Background
The susdrain SuDS Awards 2020 will celebrate exceptional SuDS, and will give due recognition to a SuDS Champion who is instrumental in delivering exceptional SuDS.
The four award categories for SuDS projects are:
• New build large scale SuDS
• New build small scale SuDS
• Retrofit large scale SuDS
• Retrofit small scale SuDS
Winners and/or commendations will be celebrated and there will be an overall winner recognising the scheme most effectively delivering SuDS that provide multiple benefits.
The Awards provide a platform to share the best SuDS that have been implemented over the last four years, recognising high-quality planning, design, construction and maintenance of sustainable drainage. Finalists will showcase the key elements of their schemes in fast-paced presentations before the winners are announced. Winning and highly commended schemes will be given the opportunity to present in depth case studies in webinars planned for September.
SuDS are often implemented due to the ability of a single champion to inspire, inform and influence others to get on board, share good practice, and deliver SuDS. The susdrain SuDS Champion 2020 is voted for by the SuDS community and will be presented to an individual, who has demonstrably gone ‘the extra mile’ to deliver and encourage the uptake of SuDS.
