Land contamination is an issue affecting the UK and China alike. Having experienced a decade of meteoric growth in GDP, China has seen an increase in demand for land for development. Like the UK, China has a legacy of land contamination resulting from industrial and commercial activities. Nowadays, many developers in China are seeking to deploy cost-effective and sustainable practice following stricter legislation and increased awareness of environmental issues.
Site investigation is an important part of a contaminated land project. Investigation techniques have evolved substantially in the past decade including the increased use of geophysical and remote sensing techniques for data acquisition and interpretation. Many of these techniques can be used to acquire more than one type of data and/or information about the site.
This webinar will examine site investigation approaches used in China and the UK. It will also highlight practical issues specific to these countries and showcase good practice.
