Repurpose of materials in road transport infrastructure pt 1
CIRIA is launching a new series of events aimed at exploring inventive ways to reconstruct existing materials for the transport infrastructure.
Background
This two-part webinar will highlight the latest developments in repurposing materials for the road sector.
• 14 December 2020 Part one
• 16 December 2020 Part two
Join us to discover ways in which existing materials can be repaired and upcycled for better use. Road asset owners and operators, the supply chain and the academic community will share the latest research, concepts, prototypes and/or good practice that could meet the requirements of asset owners and operators now and into the future.
The transport infrastructure events will facilitate knowledge sharing on current industry practices and the application of cutting-edge research and good practice within the fields of infrastructure materials science and asset management, covering the areas of:
• Monitoring and testing the of condition of existing materials
• Case studies demonstrating good practice with new replacement materials, and an opportunity to learn from other sectors. Topics include composites in bridges, sustainable materials, and digitally enabled materials such as 3D printing
• Requirements for the road sector going forward aimed at delivering tangible outputs
