CANCELLED How to stimulate innovation particularly in SI

This lunch time session will give you insight into how innovation should be designed and implemented in site investigation, and how to foster innovation within your organisation. It will also provide an opportunity for you to meet potential suppliers and clients in this area

Background

We are constantly being told that innovation is essential to business growth, competitiveness and productivity.  Businesses that innovate are able to scale up and gain a larger share of the market.

A survey carried out by CIRIA in 2018 shows that over 50% of the 200 people surveyed, had not applied any ‘innovative approaches to site investigation for more than 12 months.

Is it because people are not aware of the opportunities, or have difficulty designing, and implementing new approaches? Or do our approaches stifle innovation?

Why attend

This event will:

  • Explain how innovation can be applied to construction projects, particularly contaminated land and geotechnical schemes
  • Highlight lessons learnt, the pros and cons when designing new approaches
