Tackling modern slavery in supply chains

This webinar will explore how the construction industry is responding to the Modern Slavery legislation and to increasing pressures to mitigate risks associated with modern slavery and ethical labour issues in their supply chains.

Background
UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 had been introduced to tackle slavery and trafficking within any organisation operating within or trading with the UK. It requires businesses with an annual global turnover of £36m or more to produce a statement setting out the steps they have taken to ensure there is no modern slavery in their own business and their supply chains.

The Act seeks to provide the public, consumers, investors and employees the information they need to assess how companies are mitigating modern slavery risk from their supply chains. Failure to address these risks can lead to financial and reputational damage as well as pressure from the shareholders, the public and NGOs.

This webinar will present an overview of the uptake of the Modern Slavery Act and progress to date. It will also present the experience of leading industry organisations that are tackling the risks in their supply chains.
