UXO for land projects - are we doing any better?
This event will examine the different UXO risk assessment approaches in land projects.
When
Thursday 16 June 2016
10.30 - 15.30
Background
Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) is an important issue for many construction projects - both land and marine developments. Although they are different and regulated by different regimes, if UXO risk is not managed efficiently, there is a risk of loss of life or injury to personnel and a costly delay to construction or operational activities. In the first 8 months of 2015, there were 3 UXO cases in London alone.
Why attend
- Discuss progress in UXO risk assessment and management in land projects since the publication of CIRIA report C681 in 2009;
- Provide a forum to discuss the main concerns of the major stakeholders;
- Explore areas where further improvements are needed;
- Showcase good practice.
